AVATAR: LEGEND OF KORRA

WAN

First Avatar, Firebender

The one who started it all. Wan was the human who separated Raava from Vaatu and therefore the balance of good and evil was disturbed. He is also the first human to wield all four elements and bonded with Raava permanently.

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER

AANG

Previous Avatar, Airbender

An airbender who ran away from the temple shortly after learning he was the Avatar. It resulted in him being frozen for a hundred years. During that time the Fire Nation took over control over a great deal of the world.

AVATAR: LEGEND OF KORRA

KORRA

Last Avatar, Waterbender

The last Avatar born in the cycle that Wan originally started. Korra came to Republic City and stopped the Equalists from ridding the world of bending. She also participates in a sport called Probending. Unknown to her, Korra will be the one to break the Avatar cycle that has been going on for 10,000 years.

SOKKA

Water Nation

The second person Aang (and Raava) saw after their hundred year sleep in the ice. For a time they stayed with Sokka and his sister at the Southern Water Tribe until they became Team Avatar. Despite the fact that he isn't a bender, Sokka has proved he's an irreplaceable member of the team. He's the strategist and map-wielder.

ZUKO

Firebender, Fire Prince

The prince was once an enemy of Aang's (and Raava's) that chased him from one end of the planet to the other. Finally he has part of the team and is now the Avatar's firebending sifu.

TY LEE

Fire Nation, Chi Blocker

Also once an enemy's of Aang's who worked alongside Zuko's older sister. Since then she has also a friend rather than fight against them. Ty Lee has the ability to block chi and that not only puts a stop to bending but also causes the affected body part to go numb.

OZAI

Firebender, Fire Lord

The grandson of Sozin, who wiped out the Air Nomads in an attempt to destroy the Avatar. Since then the Fire Nation had moved across the world with violence and fear. Ozai follows in his grandfather's footsteps and planned to use Sozin's comet to take complete control over the remaining resistance. This was the man Avatar Aang had to face in his lifetime. Rather than kill Ozai, Aang simply took his bending away.
